I am a Southern California native, New York City transplant. I was born and raised in a small suburb city about 45 minutes east of Los Angeles. I was a total tomboy growing up , yet always loved my dresses and of course, heels and cowboy boots.
I am a mom of an energetic, artistic, music loving little boy who keeps me on my toes, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
My partner in crime, Joseph, and I have known each other since high school, although we aren’t high school sweethearts. We first grew as friends, until Joseph one December decided to make the next move during one of my visits home to California from the east coast. And a love story began.
The blog started in 2013 as Fashion At Largedue to my love for everything fashion.
In the summer of 2016, we found out that we were expecting in early 2017 and I had taken a step back from blogging and spend the remainder of the year obsessed over everything baby and trying to prepare for this new chapter called, “Motherhood”.
Our son was born in March 2017 and the first few days/ (who are we kidding?) months, were filled with excitement, love, joy, gratitude and a roller coaster of emotions. Honestly, I was struggling with ppd and anxiety. It is so common that we feel these things will not affect us personally, but are much more common that we realize.
The summer of 2017, I decided to reconvene my blog to redirect my energy, however from Fashion At Large was born Madame Warrior. Madame Warrior, to me, had exhibited all the strengths and hidden capabilities we as women and mothers have within us, whether we were already at a point in our lives where we realized this or not. We are physically, emotionally and mentally so much stronger that we often give ourselves credit for. The Madame Warrior blog would cover more than fashion or motherhood. It would exhibit my lifestyle overall; motherhood, fashion, travel, fitness, business as an entrepreneur and motivation to pursue those inner goals you have. It’s about connecting, learning and being inspired by all of the beautiful things in life!
